SUMMER HOURS We will observe our winter hours (9a.m. to 5p.m. with lunch 12:30 to 2:00) until Memorial Day at which point we switch to our summer hours: 8:30a.m to 4:30p.m. with the same lunch.) When school starts in the fall, we will return to 9 to 5.  Be watching for that update!

EXCELLENCE IN INVISALIGN Dr. Darbro is excited to announce that Invisalign technologies are now available to adolescent patients.  Whereas before, Invisalign was typically used to treat adult or older teen patients, technological advancements have designed a treatment for younger jaws.  Also, Invisalign has recently commended Dr. Darbro for outstanding results in Invisalign cases!

BIG WRITE UP IN LOCAL MAG Dr Darbro’s expert advice on orthodontics and orthodontic procedures was requested by local magazine SOUTH, a periodical for Indy’s Southside. In the article, Dr Darbro discussed subjects ranging from ages of patients in treatment to innovative orthodontic breakthroughs, from early treatment to working with patients to achieve the best result. The magazine will be available through March at Borders, Kroger, and Marsh and by subscription. BUT you can also access it online at www.indysouthmag.com where you can actually page through the magazine and read all the articles (caveat: as of right now there is no quick way to get to page 84/85 directly!).

“…HEY, ISN'T THAT DR. DARBRO ?!?”

Besides being an orthodontist and in addition to acting onstage in local productions, Dr. Darbro also models for Artistic Enterprises.

You may have seen the doctor in some advertisements on TV for a Terre Haute hospital. He plays a meat and potatoes type of guy who washes his car and wonders about his health. It plays mainly in the northern part of the state, so don’t feel bad if you missed it!

Closer to Greenwood; you may see Dr. Darbro in a brochure for a local heart hospital where he can be seen reclining in a hospital bed hooked up to an EKG machine. They had to put make up on him to make him look sick!!!

He also appears in a training video for an insurance company.

Chicken Ala King

1 can mushrooms, sliced
½ cup butter
½ cup flour
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 cups light cream
1 ¾ cups chicken broth
1 to 2 large can/s chopped chicken breast, drained
4 ounces pimentos, chopped

Instructions
In a large skillet, cook and stir mushrooms in butter for 5 minutes.  Blend in flour, salt, and pepper.  Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is bubbly.  Remove from heat, stir in cream, broth and reserved mushroom liquid.  Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.  Boil and stir 1 minute.  Stir in chicken and pimentos.  Heat through.  Serve over rice or biscuits.

A MORNING OF CPR

As always, we value the safety of our patients and our staff. To honor this commitment, we keep our CPR and OSHA certifications current. We want you to feel comfortable and safe in our office. October 30th we closed the office to become recertified in CPR, both one and two person adult and child CPR. Individual face masks were provided that attached to the dummies who needed resuscitating.

Getting your teeth cleaned every six months can get you more than a pretty smile. Here at Dr. Darbro's office, we reward our patients by placing their name in a drawing. Simply take one of our "See-Your-Dentist" entry forms with you to your visit and have the dentist/hygienist fill it out. When you come back to see us, drop your entry form into the jar at the front desk. If your name is drawn, you win a Mall Gift Certificate!! This drawing is held in January and July, so be sure to visit your dentist.

MOTHER'S DAY BASKET

This spring we have a drawing for a wonderful Mother’s Day basket.  Patients write a small paragraph about how and why their mother/guardian is so great and then we draw for the winner.  We always love to read the heartfelt entries.  It is gratifying to see how much kids really do appreciate their parents.

Our dear friend and co-worker, Bobbi, left for greener pastures when her husband was transferred to North Carolina.  While we will deeply miss her, we are excited and optimistic about our new co-worker/friend Nicole who has stepped in to replace her in the operatory.  Be sure to give Nicole a big “How do you do?” when you see her on your next appointment!

MAP QUERIES

In today’s modern times, it is commonplace to search for addresses and locations via the internet using such sites as Google Maps, MapQuest, etc.  While these sites are helpful, sometimes certain addresses are difficult for these sites to locate.  Unfortunately, our office is one of these addresses!  This is due to our parking lot being considered a road (Breckenmore Drive).  Google Maps correctly locates our office address, but other sites will send you too far south.  Should you use one of these other map sites, please be sure that your destination is NORTH of Fry Road on S.R.135.  Another option is to use this alternate address in your search:
